The Punk Influence
Punk is so easy to wear. You can achieve it just by wearing a leather jacket. For the more daring, there are heavy biker and military boots, which cleverly tick two autumn trends at once. However, you can immediately engage with the trend by wearing studs on any piece which can include jackets, womens shoes and accessories, although be careful to not go over board as this can lead to serious stud like injuries! As well, safety pins are also key accessories. Pin one in a scarf, bag or a pocket along with other make shift broaches or jewellery. And don’t forget the adrogynous look is always popular and emphasises that classical Coco Chanel look with a silky shirt and a fitted black tux jacket. Finish it off with a scarf and silver jewellery and don’t forget the obligatory black pumps.
Standing out from the crowd shouldn’t be too hard with these looks, but if you wanted a more softer feel, then instead of going for the full stud and leather, wear interesting fabrics and boyish trousers/jeans, such as the cutoffs and leather shorts seen at Balmain. On top try a crisp white shirt with a striped blazer and some knee high boots with buckles. With make up you can go all out. This is the one look where lips and eyes can be worn at the same time. Think red lips and dark, dark eyes.
The best thing about the new punk trends is that it shows that sexy and stylish can also show individuality. It is a style that can easily be created by yourself, you can choose exactly what goes into it. Small, edgy details are key to this look, easily achieved by detail on accessories. To complete the entire look, wear hair loose and straight or up in a tight bun. And don’t forget the eyeliner!
