Winter Bedding
Winter can be dark, drab and cold so a colorful and cozy bedroom is a welcome retreat. One way to add a splash of color is with throw pillows; a colorful throw will help to ward off a chill and update the look of a room at the same time. Part of the fall routine is to set the clocks back and change the batteries in your smoke detector – why not add a change over to winter bedding to the list and be prepared for whatever weather winter brings.
Put away the lightweight summer bedding and bring out the electric blankets, heavier quilts and comforters and the trusty flannel sheets. Take the time to inspect your bedding for signs of wear – it may be time to replace or update certain items like sheets and pillowcases, and a new set of flannel bedding can be festive and fun. There have also been some advances in flannel bedding – you may have an old set of inexpensive flannel sheets that are pilled or thin – modern flannel sheets are worth looking into as technology has improved so much. For example the Micro Flannel solid sheets offer a soft and cozy feel that is double brushed for extra softness with anti-pill technology for a flawless appearance. These cozy sheets are easy to care for, fast-drying and energy-saving through those tough winter months.
The same holds true for electric blankets and throws – those old crinkly versions where you could feel the wires through the thin blanket are yesterday’s news. Modern electric blankets have auto on and off features, amazing temperature controls and feature plush fabrics so soft you will drift off to sleep in pillowy comfort.
